Area guide to Clarendon Park, Leicestershire

Clarendon Park is an area situated in the south of the city of Leicester. As one of Leicester’s most popular residential areas for young families, professionals, and students, Clarendon Park is always in demand for its period properties. It’s also just a short 10-minute drive into the city centre or a 22-minute journey via public transport.

Queens Road and Clarendon Park Road

Queens Road and Clarendon Park Road are the two main roads in the area, as well as major crossroads providing a community hub. In addition to unique shops and convenience stores catering to everyday needs, there are a lot of lively bistros and bars that can be found in this area as well.

There are some indications that this area may have once been the property of the Society of Friends. Clarendon Park is, therefore, home to more establishments that are more of the ‘newer-style’ rather than the traditional pub or club type.

Well-known local architects have designed some of the area’s most renowned homes, including Isaac Barradale, James Tait, Ernest Gimson and Stockdale Harrison. During the Arts and Crafts movement, Gimson was one of the leading figures, and one of his most famous properties, called The White House, is situated on North Avenue in the city.

So if you are looking for a unique architectural property after selling your home then Clarendon Park is a great place to start your property search.
